SITECH Solutions technician Brendon Vella recently visited Trenching Systems Australia in Ryde, Sydney, where they have one of our Trimble GCS900 dual mast systems installed on their Vermeer Terrain Leveler surface miner. Brendon's main objective during the visit was to connect the machine to utilise Trimble 3D machine guidance.
Prior to Brendon's visit, data had been prepared by SITECH's office (handled by Scott). Then Brendon's role on-site involved setting up, calibrating, and connecting the Trimble system to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
Trenching Systems’ Vermeer Terrain Leveler surface miner machine has been used in Sydney to cut down a surface to allow for the construction of an apartment building. By using its large cutting drum, it lowers the drum over the material, breaking it up into smaller pieces, it slowly moves across the surface cutting and lowering the level as it breaks the material. A loader or excavator can then remove or load out the loose material.
Trimble machine guidance allows the operator to know what level the machine is cutting, directly from the operator’s cab.
By leveraging Trimble technology, Trenching Systems Australia gained several key benefits:
🚩 Enhanced Precision: The Trimble GCS900 system provides real-time monitoring of cutting levels directly from the operator's cab, ensuring precise excavation and leveling.
🚩 Increased Efficiency: With Trimble technology in place, Trenching Systems Australia experienced streamlined operations, reducing downtime and optimising productivity on the job site.
🚩 Improved Safety: Real-time monitoring capabilities enable operators to work with greater confidence, minimising the risk of errors and accidents during trenching operations.
